Carpenter
This role is ideal for a dedicated professional with extensive carpentry experience in residential and commercial construction projects. The Carpenter will be responsible for interpreting blueprints, measuring, cutting, and assembling materials to complete high-quality builds on time and within specifications.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials, along with a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and building plans to determine dimensions, materials, and layout for projects.
- Framing & Structural Work: Perform tasks related to framing, including walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs for both residential and commercial structures.
- Installation: Install doors, windows, cabinetry, and trim with precision and attention to detail. Perform custom installations as required by project specifications.
- Material Selection & Measurement: Select appropriate lumber and other materials based on project needs. Measure and cut wood and other materials accurately to specified dimensions.
- Repair & Maintenance: Conduct repairs and renovations, including inspecting and replacing damaged frameworks, beams, and other structural components.
- Tool Operation: Operate power and hand tools safely and efficiently, ensuring all tools are maintained and used correctly.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of PPE. Ensure work sites are safe, clean, and organized.
- Quality Control: Maintain high standards of craftsmanship in all tasks and complete projects in a timely manner, meeting or exceeding quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of carpentry experience in the construction industry, with proven skills in both residential and commercial projects.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, materials, and building codes. Proficiency with measuring tools, saws, drills, and other carpentry equipment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials, work in various weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Certifications: WHMIS and Working at Heights certifications are preferred; Red Seal certification in carpentry is a strong asset.
- Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are preferred.
