Construction Manager

This position requires a seasoned construction professional with a deep understanding of complex rebuild projects, including project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and team management. The Construction Manager will oversee multiple large rebuild projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, with specific expertise in overseeing rebuilds for commercial, residential, or mixed-use properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Scheduling: Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and timelines for large rebuild projects, coordinating resources, materials, and workforce effectively.
  • Budget Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure projects are completed within the allocated budget. Review cost estimates and monitor ongoing costs, providing accurate reporting.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage on-site construction teams, including subcontractors, tradespeople, and other staff. Assign tasks, oversee performance, and ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Quality Control: Oversee all construction activities to ensure workmanship meets project standards and specifications. Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Safety Management: Enforce safety protocols and practices on-site, conducting regular safety meetings, and ensuring compliance with all local, provincial, and federal regulations.
  • Client & Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, addressing issues, and managing expectations.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation for all aspects of the project, including progress reports, change orders, and regulatory compliance. Submit timely reports to senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of construction management experience, with at least 5 years focused on large-scale rebuilds or complex construction projects.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and techniques for large rebuilds.
  • Certifications: PMP or Gold Seal Certification in Construction Management is preferred. WHMIS and Working at Heights certification is required.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong ability to coordinate with a range of stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and site crews.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to address unexpected issues and make sound decisions quickly.
  • Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
